Howdy!
I have been doing alot of research on Impreza's and am about to buy one. Then purchase a wrecked '04 STI from a friend who has a rebuilders license.
I understand that any ej engine and all trannies bolt up with out trouble, I will be buying a pre OBD-2 chassis so that i can run programable and not have to worry about aircare (our local annual or bi-annual emissions control test)
I curious about interchangability of the sti struts and shocks with the early impreza's and the there stock knukles and hubs.
likewise with the lower control arms, does the '04 sti have a wider track or the '05?
cheers

the STi's have inverted struts, which arent compatable with a 93-01 chassis. and for the money you would spend to make everything fit, you could have just got a set of quality coilovers from Tein, JIC, or Apex'i. but as far as the drivetrain, that'll bolt all in
rau you are wrong..i have usdm sti struts in my 99 2.5rs. you just need to switch top hats (upper mounts) for it to work.....and believe me...bang for the buck it is a *****in swap...since your car is @400 lbs lighter, the increased damping from the new struts makes the car rotate sooo much mor readily....i don't have a rear sway at all anymore, and it just pivots till i light the throttle....p.m. me with questions.
also...the 04 control arms will work...but yoou need the endlinks from the 04 as well....the 05 stuff is wider...it will work as well, but you'll need more parts to do it....
it's been said before, and i'll say it again.....
