Garage w/ lift anyone?
Hey, anyone know of a place I can yank my transmission out at? I'd say a day to pull it, a week to rebuild it, then a few hours to install it again.
I'd like a lift or something more convenient than jackstands in my parent's garage. I don't mind throwing down some cash for using one or having a business help me. Any hookups that you guys know of (locally)? I know there are drop off tranny shops, but I'd like to be there if possible... TIA!
Try to keep this on subject.

we're planning on getting a lift at the shop as soon as it starts getting busy again. its dead right now so i dont think its gonna happen any time soon. we do have a lift at the fresno shop though but thats a little far
I'd personally go to DB if the funds permit but if not find a buddy that's in the military and go on post and do it. I've met some of the most mechanically inclined people ever in the on-post shops. I guess if you can pull a transmission out of a Bradley Fighting Vehicle in a combat zone a Subaru becomes a cake walk.

Yea, not gunna make a 2 hour drive just to use a lift. I also highly doubt a business like that would let a customer work under a car for liability reasons.
I'm just going to get some syncro work done to it. I have a good friend that's a Subaru mechanic so all I have to do is get it pulled out for him and I just pay for parts if needed.

Ya, Fresno is a bit far. Well let me know if anything is available in the near future. Thanks for the reply.
