Turbo Jeep Cherokee
 

I have seen a Jeep TSI driving around my town once or twice. It looked all stock but had purple TSI badging on the front quarter panal and on the rear. Did they ever make a turbo JEEP or is TSI something else????????????

to the best of my knowledge (i used to be a jeep guy) Jeep never made a turbo charged jeep.

eagle talons may have come with a turbo at one point, but i'm not sure.

hell, i've never even seen a 'TSI' badge on a jeep, so i have no idea what it might stand for...

yes eagle talons with TSI on them are Turbo AWD

Jeep Grand Cherokee Tsi was a 5.9L V-8, only one year, only time 5.9 was offered.

i thought there was another big engine offered in the Jeep like a 5L

i have never heard of that before.......but i was looking into a new supercharger for the 4.0 liter in the wrangler. made by bell and it's pretty sick......stock wrangler puts about 145 to the ground and the new kit is putting over 240 to the tires on the dyno. now i need to get one of those in my trail jeep!!! can you imagine how easy you could grenade the stock drivetrain with power like that!!! all i see is T-cases shattering and driveshafts twisting!!!!

ps there are two companies making Turbo kits for wranglers but most rock crawlers don't like em cause crawling is all about gearing and torque....not about screaming the engine!

Why would you want a turbo charged gas engine on a vehicle like a Jeep. Like someone already posted, rock crawling is about gearing and torque.

The TSI Grand Cherokee package included the purple stripe, and different cloth seats than the "sport". There was a 5.9L Grand made in 1998 only, but that was a Limited, and had nothing to do with the TSI.
