Cars with a turbochargers can gain massive power boosts cheaply.

sti all the way

I drove an STI the first time over a year ago because my 15 year old brother told me i HAD to check it out. I drove the WRX and it did not impress me, sorry guys, then I convinced them to let me take the STI for a spin. After an hour of discussion they finally let me drive it around the block. Wholly sh** un F****ing beliveable I got so amped i had to stop after 20 seconds of driving, my right was shaking too bad to drive, well needless to say my five minutes ended to fast. Afterwards I went strait to Nissan because people told me it did not compare to the 350. The next day I was the pround owner of the car I still love and makes my life worth while my STI.

the problem with the front end on the Z's is just an alignment issue. if you come in with less then 15k nissan replaces your front tires for free and re-aligns the car.
after that you paya percentage for the tires but alignment is still free. this only reallly pertains to the 03-04 MY. but i would still rather have an sTI.

if u plan on tracking your car a lot. Get STi

If you simply want to pick up chicks, 350z or G35c will be a better choice

Looks can be deceiving. I compared the WRX and the Z (introductory year) before I bought my WRX. Road and Track magazine posted better 0-60 and 1/4 mile for the WRX that year and gave the WRX a much better rating for handling than the Z. The Z just looks fast. The STi is such a better performer than the Z that it's not really fair to compare the two cars.

This may be true up to 55 mph, but anything over that (such as highway driving) the 350Z will dominate. One full liter more of displacement and no AWD drivetrain loss can't be ignored. Personally I wouldn't get the 350Z unless it was the Nismo upgrade package, which makes the car markedly more expensive than the STI; however, it is worth noting that the car is devoping a large aftermarket and responds very well to power upgrades such as supercharging and exhaust.

I really like the 350Z but damn....it is SO uncomfortable to sit in and drive.

There's no way I would have that car as a daily driver.

The seats hurt my bum bum. It is hard to enter and exit.

However, I feel that it looks much nicer than an STi so yeah looks wise it wins.

It's sort of apples to oranges though...the STi is a maximum performance AWD Sedan whereas the 350z is a straight up sports car with two seats.

How is the Z uncomfortable to drive? The rear visibility sucks I agree, but why do you feel that way?
I didn't know rear visibility was such an issue in buying a sports car. If you are looking for a true "sports car" than go w/ the z. Having a large displacement engine w/out turbo lag and rear wheel drive is what a sports car is suppose to be. Only downside is it's considerably slower than the STI.

Ok, I used to own an STi, and worked at a Nissan/Infiniti dealership.

STi > 350Z.

'Nuff said. The STi is much more of a track demon, is faster, and has AWD for your slippery conditions. The Z is still a demon, but less so. It has great potential, especially with the new GReddy Blower. It is better for picking up chicks, and won't move AT ALL in the snow. Trust me, I've tried. If you can get an STi, I'd go with that. Plus, if you have large feet like I do, you can't out of a Z without banging the door on the next car over in a parking lot.

It was too cramped for me but I'm pretty big.

I also didn't like the driving position but that's just a personal preference.

i dont see how anyone can deny the STI sports car status, the STI is a great choice for auto-x, rally-x and not too shabby in import drag racing, and those are all sports

i'd say by definition it is undeniably a sports car, who can argue with that? who cares if it has 4 doors, porche is making a new 4 door car with a v-10.....what do you call that? a family sedan?

but this question is racking my brains.....Z.....STI......Z........STI......ahh! i want both, get both...yeah
