Wideband Savvy People

I want to do some data logging and I borrowed a friends Innovative LM-1, but I don't have a bung in my down pipe to accommodate the sensor.

A solution for this is a $75 'bracket' you can use to stick the o2 sensor into your tailpipe. I don't want to spend $75 when I'm eventually going to get a nice wideband setup so how does this sound.... c-clamp and some wire to achive the same effect. Does the o2 sensor need to be a specific depth in the tailpipe to achive accurate readings?

For those who know nothing of what I'm saying, heres a picture to the $75 clamp I'm trying to work around: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16141&cat=271&page=1

um, call Ed? I know he has one. He might be able to loan it to you for a day or so, but do not quote me on that

You can't really just stick the sensor in the tailpipe... the Innovate clamp has special ports to create a venturi effect to pull a consistent stream of gas past the sensor. The best bet if you don't have a bung in your DP, is to pull out the rear O2 sensor and install the wideband in that bung. This may throw a CEL, but shouldn't adversely effect any logging.

Thanks
