who's the krinkov/vincent of windshield replacement?

as jeremy:clearbra and vincent:tint...

I ask this because i've searched high and low and havent been able to find the hands down "go to" guy for getting my windshield replaced. live in danville, and work in fremont, so either of those areas i can go to. my deductible is 500 bucks, so im looking to spend less than 200 on a quality job.

I posted in an old thread, but got no response, so if anyone can help me out thatd be great. called premier auto glass as was recommended in the other thread and it was like 900+ for oem glass. that hurt my ears.

thanks for the help fellas.

HOLY CRAP...

yeah there were lots of rocks flying. Luckily I have clearbra. But my windshield did take some nicks..no cracks though.

I through some around as well so I can't say jack. It happens. I'm runnin all season tires right now....deep tread. Lots of rock tossing.

I got a nice 4" crack going on the passenger side as well after the Mt. Hammy drive. No complaints here as I also tossed up my share of rocks. Maybe we can get a group deal on the windshields ;)

thebing 06-24-2005 03:47 PM

i really could use a group deal. my stupid insurance doesnt cover windshields. anyone else down?

ldivinag 06-24-2005 03:48 PM

i got 21st century. and i set my deductable at 500 to try to get lower premium. i called today, and they said they dont differentiate between windshield damage and comprehensive, so no matter what, i'd hafta pay 500 deductable. =/

White4drWRX 06-24-2005 04:01 PM

i need a new one for my civic as well......:)

Krinkov 06-24-2005 06:28 PM

I work with an awesome windshield installer but dont think he can help ya for around $200. Wasnt there a place next to MPJ that did someone around heres windshield decent for pretty cheap??

Yin 06-24-2005 06:37 PM

Don's mobile.

he comes to your house and installs a new windshield for about $180 or even less. i have his number at home.... i'll get it soon. i got the advice from some thread on i-club baic a few months back. search windshield and my sn i guess.

good thing its inexpensive too, cuz i already got another rock crack :(

thebing 06-25-2005 10:21 AM

just wanting to remind yin to get that info when he can.

anyone else know somewhere and maybe want to start a group buy? sounds like we got a few ppl who need windshield replacement.

sjscooby 06-25-2005 10:43 AM

Premier auto glass, they did a group buy for i-club a while back and honored that price when i mentioned it to them a while afterwards. I got charged 175, after months and many rocks, the windshield is still going strong. They are located off of o'toole.

resident smurf 06-25-2005 10:53 AM

does anyone know of a shop that will do it correctly, though?

are these shops reputable? none of the windshield replacements I've had done have been done well; they have all resulted in whistles and increased wind noise. :(

mattsn0w 06-25-2005 11:16 AM

that sucks that so many people have had problems with their windshields. mine has some knicks in it, but no cracks.

hey sjscooby, can you provide the number to premier auto glass? because from your other post, i googled them, and the mexican lady that answered quoted me 900+ for replacement, and from how mexican she sounded, i didnt want to even try mentioning i-club. but i really do need to get mine replaced soon, the crack is inching toward the left and getting longer every day
