The guy wrote that a while back, found the links on BITOG. Here it is in it's original form: http://63.240.161.99/motoroil/

No doubt, he's a smart guy. But there are people (who are more qualified than him) that don't see eye-to-eye with certain aspects of his articles. Definitely a good read to get a different perspective.

I didn't see any articles, but I did see some posts over at
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com (BITOG)

Some posts weren't even directed at AEHaas, but were just part of random threads. (It is a forum, so info is kinda disorganized.)

Here's a few threads I dug up:
http://theoildrop.server101.com/foru...&Number=769476
http://theoildrop.server101.com/foru...&Number=259103
http://theoildrop.server101.com/foru...&Number=829755

I should add, IMO of course, the super knowledgeable guys don't exactly agree/disagree with AEHaas (or each other for that matter). They tend to take things on a case-by-case basis, because no two engines are ever identical. Oddly enough, there's a lot of "opinion" when it comes to oil.

He is a surgeon, not a tribologist. There are guys on that board that actually engineer oil for various companies and applications. Just keep that in mind

Off-topic: The guy owns an Enzo... so that's pretty badass!

The article was way long to read, I skimmed it all and I came up with a few things:

It seems like the main point of the posts were to clarify the "automotive jargon" that's printed on each oil container - with super in depth explanation, with the exception of using "weight" for the W in 0W, 10W, etc, as it is to mean, "winter viscosity" measured at freezing temperatures.

But, that's just my 2 cents - didn't bother reading the whole thing, someone give me some cliff notes.

It's too late to read all that

So, are you going to change the type of motor oil you use now after reading that?

Just curious
