Question what do you all do if you got no garage?

sup all,
i am gonna start doing some mods very soon on my STi.
simple things are first.
Getting a gauge cluster in the center pod.
Strut braces
Vishnu Stage 1 (TBE…)

I live in SF, and have no garage, don’t have too many tools yet. I see that lots of you either live at home, or own/rent a home with a garage and do your work there. What do the rest of you do that don’t have a garage where you live?
Or is time to move to the burbs and get a house with a garage?
Thanks

Personally, I'd never park my car (let alone a STi) on the street of SF to be abused. So if you want to stay where you are, rent a parking space somewhere nearby. If you are not so in love with the city, just move out.

I park on the street...

and I'm running to the window everytime my shock or proximity sensor is activated... it sucks. When I get rid of the sedan I'll be ok as I've got one spot in the garage of my building... you could move down here to Potrero... tons of room!

I've done a couple things to my car... usually right there on the street.

If it were me, I straight up wouldn't get a nice car without having a garage. IMO, save up for a house with a garage, then buy a nice car. A house is a investment anyway.

Friends garage or parents...
how about a business idea -- a garage for rent for people like you to work on your car - we could supply tools and equiptment and you pay an hourly rate to use it...

i live in the potrero.
i actually have a parking spot in a gated area, so the car is "some what" safe.
the mangers are not too down to let people work on the cars. they don't really like to see a car up on stands. i figured i can do the easy stuff there, but anything that may require 5 hours of the car on stands and stuff like that, i am sure i will get crap for.

ha! parents live in another country, so that is out. but hey maybe i can use your parents house.

Since this is my first subby, and the fisrt car i am really going to mod, i don't have too many friends with garages and tools. time to start meeting people.

who would be down to help me out installing Vishnu stage 1?
hell, i would be down to do a trade
i do lots of computer stuff, i own a few colo servers, and can trade for space+service. (enouhg BW to run your very own isp... alomost)

thanks all for the help btw.

garage is the only way to go.

cars that park on the street in SF wind up looking beat after a couple years.

I garage my STi at my house, and I would never do anything else.
