i would have hated to have been this salesman

in this car accident- - - bottom line is this - you meet someone for the very first time. would you trust that person with a 31,000 dollar car that gets a 13.5 second quarter mile and a 4.9 0-60?
whether or not a dealer has insurance or not i would not want to be the salesman that ends up in a car crash simply because i failed to do a simple credit check-(which believe me will reveal A LOT about someone!)

That part about the employees driving the shick out of the cars is bad. I don't expect a dealership to have control over every person off the street that test drives a new car, but their own employees?

I am troubled.

gdogg, I used to sell cars, so I understand what you are saying. But I also understand that some of the people who complain about not getting test drives really are customers. It's a double edged sword and I don't think there is one right answer. Like you said, there are definitely people out there who have no chance of buying one, they just want to beat on it. I understand the early no test drive policy on the STi because it's not fair to people who eventually buy the cars to let someone else beat on it first.
