Cool Vintage Flat Four Action This Weekend - Pre Meet Sale and Air Cooled VW Spring Meet

Some of you kids may know I work at Bugformance out in east side San Jose (map), or maybe you do now.

This Sunday the 17th is the annual Golden Gate Chapter Vintage Volkswagen Club of America VW Spring Meet at Kelley Park (Happy Hollow) in San Jose (map).

Come and see some neat vintage action, and bask in the flat four love

The shop will be having a mini car show the day before on Saturday the 16th, and is having a 20% off sale on both parts on hand and special orders - this includes ALL makes and models, new and old Volkswagens, Subaru or otherwise!

We'll have free hot dogs and sodas as well. Come by for a bite, deal, and maybe even visit yours truly if you fancy.

If you have any questions about doing a Subaru swap in a Volkswagen, we'd be glad to give some answers, as we have done such swaps on numerous occasions.

Hope to see some of you!

Nice. One of the managers here is part of that club I believe and he has some nice cars. He and I don't really get along though.

Free hot dogs across the street from Marks? lol.

I went - it never ceases to amaze me how big this show is.

The VW community seems so strong. I mean it's not like anything new has happened with Air-Cooled VW's since what... 1980.
Yet here are legions of fans

Should have posted this earlier last week, I would have been interested.

I had a 73 and a 69 bug, used to always hit up the Sac Bugformance here.

Thing is, Volkswagens don't run on gas, they run on nostalgia (first hand or otherwise), and to a point nationalism. These appeals to the past and tradition resonate a lot with some folks, and the opportunities to go ***** out on a lightweight rear mid engine RWD car can be pretty appealing too, especially on pre-74 no smog cars. And the old 'more fun to drive a slow car fast than blah blah...'

This said, as a proud German American (the "de" in my handle has another meaning), I'm never buying a German car lol. Power to those who are about that life though.

Will be more ahead of the game next year. And I've never been to the Sac Bugformance, would be neat to see it next time I'm up there.
