my cousin did 30 in berkeley, on telegraph 25 mph speed limit but (busy pedestrian traffic)
got ticket for above, got arrested. (no warrants or previous history)
towed and impounded car for 30 days- for arrest and violation.
but they can't take your car. you just have to get it out of the tow yard.

5 over the limit is not reckless. You have to be going 20 over the limit to get a reckless ticket I believe
I was with my friend once in berk, he got clocked at 44 in a 25, and the cop said 1more mph over and he would have been getting his ar towed
Berkeley cops dont mess around with speeders and pedestrian violations

When I first saw UCPD, the first thing came to mind was University of California Police, I was thinking, those idiots have a stick up their a$$, but took me a sec to realize it was union city, staring at the title, lol, no encounter with either UC police police, sounds like I really wouldn't want to have any interaction with those idiots. Berkeley PD seems much more reasonable
