Here, we see a racier FR-S prototype being prepped for this weekend's German VLN race at the Nürburgring. Even with the revised wheels, front fascia, and Subaru STI-embarrassing wing out back, we can still get a good glimpse of what the production FR-S will look like when it debuts at the Tokyo Motor Show next month.
We'll have more details after this weekend's activities, and we're eagerly awaiting the official FR-S reveal in just a few weeks."

"Remember how the Lexus LFA race car debuted long before we ever saw the final production car? Well, it appears that parent company Toyota is planning to pull a similar stunt with its FT-86 Scion FR-S coupe.

You're forgetting that the 2.5rs also had an extra 0.5 liters of displacement and was heavier. I also doubt that the BRZ will have that much power. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the BRZ also getting basically the same motor as the FR-S?

I think the price point is going to be the decider, if they can keep it in the low twenties you can also think of it as a competing with the Civic Si market/Mini S/Golf GTI market. Same power with less weight and RWD and ALOT sportier looking, then it makes business sense.

Many sites topgear/motortrend blah blah had articles last week saying the subaru was indeed going to be 6~k more, and closer to 300hp. We will see, but I do believe this to be a likely scenario. In the beginning, there was a lot of talk of direct injection and higher torque thats why I don't get the honda like 150ftlbs.
either way im pretty stoked at this point.
a 2600lb close to 300hp car with nice brakes and suspesion/lsd should cause change in the upcoming market.
I'll be doing my best to get a scion or brz
