I'm wondering if the fact that it's a hummingbird matters. Those ****ers can change direction so fast, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't actually a physics question.

Was Ronald McDonald holding a fish-o-fillet or a mcrib sandwich?
Nothing will happen to the bird. There is no opposing force that would effect the bird.
The birds relative velocity is matching your cars...so when you slow down suddenly, the bird will continue it's forward motion at whatever speed it was moving.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion.

okay guys, let me tell you a bit about the THEORY OF RELATIVITY

http://www.astro.virginia.edu/~jh8h/Foundations/chapter8/chapter8.html

its all right there, no, the hummingbird doesnt move.

next time your on a airline flying 600+mph try dropping a penny, think its going to fly to the back of the plane at 600+ mph? nope ;)

R-Dub 06-12-2009 12:14 PM

I demand an explanation using flash animation and funny sound effects.

No because the penny is already going 600 mph.

Flip the penny up in the cabin, accelerate to 600 mph, then where does the penny go?
