Terminology Help Needed

Anyone know the name for the black pipes that are connected to the intercooler. I accidentally scratch them up when I was reinstalling my intercooler. Also, would it be wise to paint the pipes ?

Its called a pcv pipe.

Nothing wrong with painting the outside of it imo.
