Sunoco C16

I was tuned for 100ct. My question is can I run leaded c16 on my 100 oct tune since it is a higher octane raiting?

I am not trying to get more power out of my 100ct tune, I just couldn't source 100ct for the races tonight and someone kicked me so C16.

Good story. Good to hear your car is runnin sick . I don't know much about leaded gasoline, but I would imagine its not bad for your engine, but bad for the people that are exposed to it. Thus probably why no gas station sells it to the avg consumer...aka banned probably.

-edit-

aka as long as its a higher octane fuel it should be fine, leaded or not.

I think the only issue with c16 and being tuned for 100ct is that the higher octane burns slower and would create less power. I mixed 5 gallons on c16 with about 2-2.5 gallons of 91 still in my tank. So whatever that = out to be.

I can get 104 tomorrow and that is a lot close to the 100ct I am tuned for. Tomorrow is timeslips!

Leaded gas isn't bad for engines, but is fatal to catalytic converters.....

ran much gooder on 104 today. I still need to either source some 100oct or tune it for 104 since that seems to be what is available to me.

Almost broke into the 12's, I was a 13flat. Next drags I got it.

I would not run C16 if you are tuned for 100. C16 burns slower and your performance will be better on the gas you are tuned for. Also C16 is leaded so watch out if you have cats. C16 smells sooooo good though

also Sunoco doesn't make C16, it's VP.

Definately better to run a mix of 91 and Maximal for your 100 octane tune but best idea is to run exactly what you were tuned for. If you were tuned for 100 oct unleaded 104 unleaded is a good subsititue also.

Did you finally get your avcr fixed? If you did, I would try to tweak it a little and you will for sure break into the 12's.

Surprising tho that you weren't deep in the 12's

Good luck man!

PS. I bet you would almost tie me with my wagon on 91 and you on 100

Got it to a 13.flat last night on the 104 with a little C16 in it.

Haha I thought it was Sunoco cuz Craig game me a bottle and said it was C16, it had Sunoco Maximal written on it so I thought that was thename of C!6. lol.

I was still dialing in the boost controller as it is FIXED! now and it still had a lot more juice in the car. I was taking it easy on the new clutch and re-learning the car all over again now that it is running right again. My 13.0 was a 1.795 60ft so I know I can cut a tenth or two there.

The car can do a mid 12 second pass now, I just need to get there with it. I will launch a little harder next race and start banging gears again.

I ran a 12.6X with a 2.0 60ft time. I dont think 13 more whp is good for 4 tenths

Yes, the car was running "funny" as it did not have the proper fuel it was tuned for. I found out later C16 burns slower and would create less power on my tune.

I will get there, but what do you care
