Suggestion on a good all season tire, and a good place to get tires in the Bay?

Hey there,

I was wondering if someone can give me some suggestions on which All season tire to go with? The reason why I'm going with an All Seasonal tires because I want the quietness and comfort over Summer tires.

With some research, I'm leaning towards the Goodyear Eagle GT and Yokohama AVID W4s, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.

My other question is, where should I go to get my tires in the Bay Area? Or, am I better off ordering from Tire Rack, and bringing it to a shop to have them mount it?

Since you bought that up, do you happen to know if the prices on their site include mount and balance?

i could be wrong but last time i checked places ie america tire couldnt price match or do better than tireracks prices. some places can :)

I usually get tires from the tire rack, but I wanted to go with Toyos (this is for another car) so I start looking around. Surprisingly, Auto Innovation came in at the cheapest overall price (this is considering cheapest online price, shipping then mounting and balancing at a place that you didn't buy the tires from).

I used to work for Americas Tire company and we priced matched tire rack all day and hated it. You'll still have to pay mount, balance, and disposal fee for your tires.

What tire size are you looking for?

i just put some yoko s-drives on my silvia. Grip is pretty good, they are quiet, and the rain traction last night was wonderful.

Yes, americas tire price matches, I buy 8+ sets of tires a year from them.

Seach those on nasioc, they're supposed to be the quietist summer tire around.

I wouldnt recommend an all season, they are no fun in the dry and are mediocre in the snow. If you go to the snow, I recommend a second set of rims rather than a 'one size fits all' mediocre year round tire.

My 2 cents.
