So I was reading CL the other week and some one posted that they have seen ppl completley stop on the freeway and then proceed to try and make it to the exit that is behind them. I thought to myself, who can be that stupid it must not actually happen. I was wrong.

So I'm going to work today and I'm on 101N in the #2 lane passin the Shoreline exit. All of a sudden the car in front of me stops, I have to be a little more agressive on my brakes to avoid rear ending the guy. So I'm sitting here stopped in the #2 lane while all other lanes of traffic are zooming by. I'm wondering what is going on. I finally get a chance to move into the #3 lane and as I start to get up to speed what do I see? A stupid dark blue volkswagon gt, or was it gti that had completley stopped. This idiot wsa trying to make it over to the Shoreline exit that he had passed. This moron could have caused a multi-car accident just so he could cut across all the lanes and the median to make it to the Shorline exit, which btw was packed with cars as it is. Why didn't this moron just go to the next exit and get off there and then get back on 101S or just take side roads to get back to Shoreline!!!

This same thing happened in front of me about a week ago on 380! I really sometimes wish that our society allowed Darwin's laws of evolution to work (without fear of litigation)!!

i have a story that tops that.

a few yrs ago, i was heading home from bay meadows horse racing in san mateo. i forgot what time it was but it was at least 9 or 10pm.. i was driving on 101S in the 2nd lane when all of a sudden, i saw headlights GOING TOWARDS me in the fast lane... i was like, W T F! ?

guess the dude was on drugs or drunk. he drove right past me and kept going. i dunno what happened after i passed him. i didn't have a cell so i couldn't call the CHP either.

 

lol when I was a little kid my dad told me he didn't like to be in the fast lane at night because of that!

 

why more cops don't catch people on that is beyond me. that's reckless drving and every bit as dangerous as speeding.

 

Far more dangerous than someone who has a clue but is simply driving fast. Always pisses me off when I see someone pull that **** or weave dangerously through rush hour traffic. THEY get away with it, but if you drive fast on an otherwise empty road, oh no, you get a ticket. Blah! **** 'em all.

 

yeah I completely agree, speed doesn't kill, stupidity does...

 

every day i watch people STOP instead of MERGE. just GO there's no mystery to merging! i avoid driving if i can.

I've seen so many people come close to clipping those yellow barrels at freeway changes, it's scary. Especially when they cut 4 lanes of traffic at the last second to cut in front of you to avoid those barrels and you get to slam on the brakes, only to almost get rear ended.

That 580 east-bound to 680 south-bound sucks!

 

Yeah I do like the ss lines and my bobcat pads, they seem to be holding up well. I guess if I encounter more idiots like this I should upgrade to some Stoptechs
