Hmmm. That sucks. So you did already speak to the police right. You may want to confirm with your local impound lot that they didn't take it, as an officer can impound any car with no registration or 6 months expired registration if you park it on a public road or parking lot, without warning.

I filed a police report and I keep calling to have them check there tow/impound log.

Damn Zach, any luck yet? I hate to say it, but coming from the Honda crowd and previously owning a car that was a theft magnet, don't hold your breath man. My guess is the car is on blocks in Oakland or San Jose...
