STI Owners, Parking Question!

Hey Guys

Im a new owner of a 05 AW STI, I just had a few questions on parking.

I live in the Bay Area and also on a hill where most cars par half there cars over the sidewalk and the other half its on the street. We have to park this way because of the traffic.

Well when I tried to do that with the STI I get a Clunking noise, what Im thinking its the DCCD or the differential or LCD that is locked preventing me from doing this?.

Is there any adjustments that I need to do so I can park?

The car drives and reverses perfectly on flat roads, so I know its not a mechanical issue.

its probably your rear struts clunking...its a very common/known issue with the sti's.

the good news is we can fix this

its a very common issue, we fix this easily 2x a week for customers.

i suggest you go one block over or to the perpendicular lettered avenues and not park on that street if possible... better than your STi getting taken out by a semi or muni bus on accident.

hmm... could it be that one tire is not making contact with the ground and causing the diff to chatter????

^ yup thats why I was mentioning it.

My car is lowered and thats what happens when I go up driveways that are usually steep. Therefore I have to hit them at an angle or scrap/lose my bumper.

Um its pretty normal for the diff to clunk when you are bringing 1 side of the car way higher than the other. You are probably lifting a wheel. If you have sway bars aftermarket/stiff susp this is more likely to occur.

yeah happens to me, especially more once i had the coilovers on.
from people that saw me go up a drive way side ways, he said that the wheel that was lifted in the air was spinning the other way, like reverse.
i just try to get enough speed to go up the slope in neutral or with the clutch in until all four wheels hit the ground, then i give it some more gas.
