Something Strange Happened At Work Today...

I work in Cupertino, right off HWY 85, near the corner of Stevens Creek and Bubb Rd. It is about 2:45pm, and I am getting ready to leave work. I was in the R&D lab in the back of the building, BSing with some other co-workers, when the building shook. I thought maybe someone slamed the slide door at the other side of the building. I looked down the hallway, and no-one was down that way. Then I opened the back door, towards the railroad tracks. Across the rail road tracks, they are building a bunch of Condo's, starting at $600,000 each. It must have been an explosion of some kind.Well I get a strong wiff of either natural gas (not that kind, or propane). A bunch of people from inside the building came out and smelled it too. So we went back inside. Then I looked out again, and there was a bunch of smoke starting to billow upwards, across HWY 85 towards De Anza College.

Did anyone else see this smoke. It was pretty thick at times. I just wanted to know if anyone happened to drive by that area as well, and maybe explain what they had seen.

holy cow!! the explosion knocked the house off its foundation!! now that's a lotta boom. the lucky SOB had just left the place when it happened, unbelievable. i would say that's like having a new lease on life, but when you have to deal with the fact that your house just blew up, you probably have a lot to worry about still. hope the guy had insurance.

Dude, if that construction crew is lucky, the fines for hitting that line won't cause it to go under. That's a major no-no.

I work at Cupertino Sportscenter and I saw the smoke coming up too. Pretty crazy after i heard the story about what happened.

By the way,

Kurlee Daddee, i believe you left your "card" on my car at De Anza one night. I was the car parked next to yours. Nice to meet you.

Yeah, sup Japsican,

I posted a thread about a sighting here:

https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...threadid=17265

I almost tried getting in your car on accident. It was dark out. But when I clicked my alarm button, my car lights flashed and I checked myself. Then I put my card on your car. Glad you found the car before it flew away.
