Most people didnt know you could get an old civic with AWD and a 6-speed trans, back in the last gen when they had proper dual-wishbone suspension front/rear, They only had it for a couple years and only in the wagon but these cars are so much FUN!!
My old boss had one as the shop parts runner when we were restoring vintage racers out of his barn in Petaluma. When the motor finally let go (200K+ miles!) I talked him into letting me swap in a DOHC JDM (ZC) motor, bolts right up to the trans and turns it into a real sleeper! His places was way over the hills and windy roads down D street so making parts runs into town became the highlight of my day. Ever since them been looking for another, dont have room for another car right now but someone grab this!!
Sounds like she just got it as a hand me down and doesnt really care about it, probably let it go for peanuts!!

Only wish it was our old brownish metallic color, think it was called 'Urban Brown", which sounds a bit racial, but is def the best color
for reference

My buddy had one, I think it was an '88. It was in great shape, he picked it up for like $1,100? (he buys/sells cars). I was thinking of buying it from him before I got the Forester. He ended up selling it for like $4,000, I wouldn't have paid that much but it was a neat little car. Still feels kinda like a CRX, but heavier and handles differently lol.

I was looking for one when I graduated high school to take to Colorado with me for college. Thankfully never found one as I ended up with a '93 Legacy Turbo wagon
. Back in '96 there weren't a lot of AWD car options for those headed to snowy climates
