so i just installed my uppie & turbo back
After about 9 hours of install, an annoying stripped bolt and other various problems ... driving my car is now very awesome. Still have not gotten an ECU flash, so I am not driving crazy hard, but man .... it's sweet.
A few questions .... after putting on the downpipe I noticed something which really pissed me off : the placement of the O2 sensor on the downpipe (see picture & notice the downward angle of the o2 sensor). I'm gonna call the vendor that made this DP & see if that's how all their DPs come out ... but yeah, the o2 sensor pissed me off. Should I not be pissed about this?
Also ... heat shield ... do i need these? The heat shield around the passenger exhaust manifold was being a broad, so I left it off. Also, with the new DP i couldn't fit the turbo heat shield in it's original position, so it's sorta almost where it used to be but not quite ... should i fix this? I didn't wanna leave the turbo heat shield off completely in case a friendly officer wants to take a look under the hood, I don't want the shiny DP to scream 'aftermarket' to him.

yeah... you should change the way it mounts... not only because it can get jacked up by being exposed, but you should always mount o2's with at least a 60 degree angle downward to prevent condensation from building up inside them.
If you get a bung and a plug, I can weld it in for you. We can mod your heat shield too.
just send me a PM,
Ash

sweet, thanks for all the feedback guys ...
The exhaust is from DN Performance, I got some 'deal' a few weeks back on up pipe, down pipe & exhaust. I am pretty sure I installed it the right way around since it's part of a singple piece downpipe (can only come from the turbo one way i believe). I will call the vendor on Monday and see what's up.
Thanks for the offer to help Ash ... I hope the vendor goes "oh, let me send you another one" =) ... but otherwise I will start thinking more about welding the DP.
Thanks for the CEL reminder ... I need to pick up a CEL fix. Is rolling around for a week or so with the CEL on bad? It will reset when I reset my ECU right?
