Remember wikileaks military killing video

"A 22-year-old Army intelligence analyst was ratted out by a fellow hacker, accused of providing the Collateral Murder video and hundreds of thousands of classified State Department records to Wikileaks. He is currently imprisoned in Kuwait."

kuwait, thats whack.

Seems fine he leaked the videos, if we didn't have people like that our country would be ****ed. If the documentation 250K really details criminal like behavior, I mean jeez it seems like the **** he leaked was the right thing to do.

You know, when a notorious computer hacker even thinks youve gone too far and feels morally obligated to turn you in for the public good, then yeah youve probably gone too far.

When you swear an oath to protect your country from enemies, foreign and domestic, then yes, what this traitor did was wrong.

He did not have the authority to reveal such video footage.

in the case of that video no, and I really do think we need more transparency and honesty about what we're doing abroad, for better or worse. And ya it sounds like the the kid diddnt do it to be an anarchist or some internet hero. Sounds like, though misguided, he thought that if he just leaked every classified doc he could get his hands on it would somehow make the world a better place.

But thats the problem, he leaked A QUARTER MILLION CLASSIFIED DOCS! Classified is not a defacto term for something thats just embarrassing and the government doesnt want anyone to see, its secrets that could threaten our national security, our soldiers and civilians, if they were revealed. Your telling me he personally reviewed all 260,000 of those docs, came to the assessment on each one that they all posed no threat to leak before he leaked them? Theres no way he did that, that would take literally take many lifetimes. And thats the problem, god knows whats been leaked at this point.

Given how much "classified" **** the government does, I think we have the right and even the duty to question and argue with their actions. However, we do not have the right to publicize random classified documents for anyone and everyone to see. That isn't justice.

If he had leaked files connected to a specific issue(s) that he was addressing, like the video, that is one thing. What he did was stupid and may have endangered lives.

He deserves to be tried in a court of law and judged by his peers, however since he is in the military I believe he loses that right. He will probably end up rotting in a cell for the rest of his life while people protest for his release.

Hey, the guy who turned him in lives in Carmichael.

When Manning told Lamo that he leaked a quarter-million classified embassy cables, Lamo contacted the Army, and then met with Army CID investigators and the FBI at a Starbucks near his house in Carmichael, California, where he passed the agents a copy of the chat logs. At their second meeting with Lamo on May 27, FBI agents from the Oakland Field Office told the hacker that Manning had been arrested the day before in Iraq by Army CID investigators.

Lamo has contributed funds to Wikileaks in the past, and says he agonized over the decision to expose Manning — he says he’s frequently contacted by hackers who want to talk about their adventures, and he has never considered reporting anyone before. The supposed diplomatic cable leak, however, made him believe Manning’s actions were genuinely dangerous to U.S. national security.

Those videos are clasified materials, yes he should get hang no matter the circumstances. And in the military he will be trial under Court Martial, he will have a jury. pretty sure he is getting F-up. T wikileak video he release was just part of the story but not the entire story. And for him to releasing all those clasified materials tell you that he was doin it for money. He was just lucky he got a hit video that depicts the shooting of Civilians that was hanging around armed ppl. people need to stopp talking crap. unless you being in war then there is not much that you know, war is brutal, is horrible, inocent suffer and is loaded with confusion. I know i am in Iraq and hate to see ppl talkin that havnt seing the war by it self, Media dont tell the entire truth, from Al jazeerah to CNN there are in the bussines of makin news. Not tranperancy. God bless america!!!!!! Support the troops!!!!!

Word. Just like Eddie Slovik the coward.

Televise it. Make an example so others see we are not effing around when it comes to national security and classified materials.

I always thought it was weird that Americans acting as axis spies during World War 2 weren't executed, but that coward Slovik was.
