Project Detailing for Japan: Detail & Services Japan Relief Fund

Greetings regional BAIC members,

I would like to announce that I will be promoting and offering some automotive exterior detailing services as my own way of raising funds to help out with what I can for the citizens of Japan after their recent natural disaster. All proceeds will be donated to an authorized relief organization and I will only keep 15% to pay for much needed products, supplies, and utilities expenses. So please if this is in your area of interest in caring for your car, take part in this opportunity to revitalize your car's condition and contribute to a good cause at the same time!

Even though I am not of Japanese heritage, the recent natural disaster over there has hit me as if it did home because it is the home of one of my beloved passions: Subaru. Japan is where the legacy of our daily drivers and race driven track cars migrated from, and there lived the great people who designed the chassis and hand built the boxer motors that live in each car. Subaru's can be replaced, but the meticulous hands from where they emerged from, not likely. I would not know this much about detailing if I had not gotten in to the likings of Subaru's in the first place oddly enough lol. Without ranting on much more, Id just like to say that there is a real strong drive from those involved and myself for this fundraiser to be successful so we can show our BAIC appreciation, and do it for our Subaru love! I know plenty of you have already donated, but this will be an expanded fundraiser giving much more time for appointments. It'll be like ritually treating your subie to something nice......... not like we don't do that all the damn time!! :biggrin1:

I know the weather recently has not been the most forgiving for outside work, but I am hoping that it will clear up soon to unveil warm sunny skies. But some services do not require outside work and can be accomplished indoors.

This thread is to make the initial announce and to see if there is gaining interest upon the community before we go out and bulk up on supplies, products and make appointments. If you are interested, Please Post Up!!!

Detailing and custom work will consist of: Hand car wash and clay bar, Removing iron deposits within body paint, Full exterior detailing and multi-step paint correction, Specific scratch removal or paint touch up, Stainless steel exhaust polishing, Headlight restoration with UV application, Headlight baking and clearing, Headlight painting, Engine bay cleaning, Badge removals and glue residue/hologram removal, Rubber/Vinyl rejuvenation, and various mechanical jobs. Jobs can be mobile to you or at one of our available locations.

Specific prices and details of what each detailing package or service offers will be posted shortly as I finish constructing the list. Please keep in mind that the price will reflect the quality compounds and products, prestigious and thorough work applied, skill involved and intensive care that we put into our work in this art.

UPDATE and Clarification: This fundraiser opportunity will last for 2 months, ending after May since it looks like it will rain throughout the rest of March. Donations will be collected in cash since these will be in person jobs. Upon payment, each donator will sign an agreement stating they agree that we are taking the payment in cash to send out to the non-profit paypal account (which will be made starting in April) in increments of $200 dollars to avoid large build up of fixed percentage fees per transaction so that Japan will receive more money. The agreement will ask for the donator's information which we will keep record of and forward a copy of the paypal donation receipt to accordingly to the order of jobs. Japanese Charity of choice under review

Best Regards and Keep Pace,
Michael

Ok, so if I sign up for a Stage 3 Gold Package, $119 of the $140 will be donated to Japan tsunami relief? May I ask which agency you'll be donating to and if a record of the donation will be provided?

I've already made donations, but I'm very interested in doing this. Thnx.

Yes it may seem like it in similar ways, but "plagiarism" is not plagiarism if you know exactly what you are doing every step along the way. DetailAddict in no way owns the color Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Royal Purple. He also in no way owns the specific methods and procedures posted in each package for that is gained knowledge through experience in the detailer domain and community. Everything I have listed is what I would offer and do in MY services. I have been doing detailing packages for a while, just not on i-club, and have tried hard to construct and visually plan each step so that it is meticulous and thorough, just as much care as I would put into my own vehicle so there are no half assed dirt patches in the cracks. I tried to list and provide the exact steps of what my labor consist of as fully as I can without giving away my personal techniques and method, just to show how detailed my work is for those who do not know me in person, but in doing so I am accused of stealing. I did not COPY NOR PASTE. So please do not further insult me on this issue.

If thats not enough, what, you want me to change the color scheme of the packages? Fine, how about Blue, White, Red, Royal Purple?

Oh, I wasn't insulting you. I was merely pointing something out..
