2004 WRX STI - Taking orders !
Greetings everyone,
I just got the go ahead to announce that Green Valley Subaru will be taking orders for the 2004 WRX STIs.
Here is the e-mail that I received from S.O.A.:
On MOnday, Jan 6 at the NOrth American International Auto Show in Detroit, Subaru of America introduced the exciting new 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI version. Needless to say, the press was wowed by the new Impreza design and especially by the incredible performance potential of the STI - with its 2.5 liter turbocharged boxer engine and 300 horsepower with 300 lb-ft of torque performance.
After the press conference, SOA launced a new website, www.impreza.subaru.com, geared to supporting the launce of the new 2004 Subaru WRX and WRX STI. The Site was launched only to the press and the enthusiast community who would be aware of the new model introduction. The initial response has been unbelievable. Within the first 24 hours, customers had requested over 2,500 brochures and or opted to be contacted by your dealerships.
Pricing has not been announced. Here are the highlights:
2004 Model WRX (Sedan and Wagon) - Arriving at dealerships in the March time frame.
*Exterior has been redesigned in coordination with the Subaru World Rally Team to improve aerodynamics and give it a purposeful, more dynamic appearance with significant changes in the front end appearance, headlamp, grill, and hood design.
* Interior refinements including new sport design front bucket seats with integrated head restraints, and new sporty instrument panel.
* Optional moonroof and all-weather package.
* New Colors: Java Black and San Remo Red.
* Same great performance - 227 HP and 218 lb-ft of torque.
2004 Model Year WRX STi Version (Sedan only) - Arriving in June time frame.
* 2.5 liter intercooled and turbocharged 4 - cylinder boxer engine with ACTIVE VALVE CONTROL SYSTEM (AVCS), 300 Horsepower @ 6000 rpm, and 300 lb.-ft of torque @ 4000 rpm.
* 6 speed manual transmission with short throw shifter.
* DRIVER CONTROLLED CENTER DIFFERENTIAL (DCCD) .
* Mechanical limited slip real differential, Suretrac viscous limited slip front differential.
* 4 - wheel fully independent sport tuned suspension wit inverted struts.
* A host of additional performance, handling and safety features that make the STi a pure driving performance package unparalled in the U.S. Market.
Forester Turbo and a version of the Legacy B4 will be introduced into the U.S. this year and early next year.
GIve me a call or e-mail me if anyone is interested.

Ray,
are you working on friday? im off and after school i might stop by there. I want to see what kind of deal you can get me on an 04 STi.
Chances are I can't afford it but I'd like to see what it would take me to get one.

PhilioWRXman,
I will be working this Friday. 2pm till 8pm.
Jaemmo,
When I talked to my G.S.M. last night, I asked him what type of price will we be selling the Sti. He stated to me that the initial ones coming in will be at MSRP. No dealer mark up. And whoever is serious should place a $500 deposit for it (first dibs).
As far as price, no one has a clue yet.

Hmmmmm ! wouldnt it be funny if the first US GDA NB kicked the Sti's butt and it costs way less with all the mods including a 6 speed tranny swap?
2004 is a long wait for me. SOA, you need to bring it stateside earlier than that.
want one as well.

I would agree with what someone said in another thread, if the STI is MSRP'ed at around 30,000, that would make the WRX pretty overpriced with all the extra stuff that the STi has.
