Still lurking, but no WRX anymore. The engine let go at 185k. Given I'd owned the car for 12 years doing auto-x, ski-trips, trips to L.A. as well as commute, it was a great vehicle, and awesome value for money.
I sold it as PNO, and the new owner rebuilt the engine and now has it smogged and running again. This made me happy because, engine aside, the car was still in good condition.

Yeah at some point we will need to change this to "Old Member School" and stuff. Damn, my knees! You kids get off my LAN!
Wait, what?
But seriously, I actually drove my WRX a lot today and surprisingly drive it a lot these days. I am almost at 75k miles - something like 400ish more to go. Had a great drive from the Coastside to Tilden Park in Berkeley, and then back tonight after breakin' rocks on the railroad today. Due to bad planning, this is all on Blizzaks. LOL?

The BAIC will always be home for me
Brother Josh, great to hear from you sir. While I have the chance, thanks for being such a positive presence here. You taught me a lot. How is the family?
I always read your name as glenspin.

Yo Dspeed! Sorry for the delay...
Thank you for the kind words my friend! I echo your thoughts about you...I really have a soft spot for this place and the old skool crew...I often think about the first BAM in Pleasanton allllll those years ago (High Tech burrito, any of those left?).
The fam is good. Sorta a hectic time in our lives...The wife and kiddo (he just turned 15, 6'1" and growing) are living in Berkeley as my wife had a heart attack 2.5 years ago, and can no longer live at altitude. Not ideal sitch, but I am the solo bacon maker and I have been promoted 4 times in 3 years (Seniormanagerat Squaw, 24th season). So we are figuring it out. The kid goes to Stanford Online HS and rows crew for the Oakland strokes (why he choose the most masochistic sport on the planet is beyond me...). He is a total smarty pants and I could not be more proud of him. He is TOTAL car dork, as the apple does not fall far from the tree (he wants a bugeye, LOL) I come down a bunch and spend time with them as often as I can. As I get older my ski time is more about quality vs quantity, and I have been cutting back for the past few years. So I would call myself a "part time" Bay resident...
I did get back into a Suby a year and a half ago. Picked up a new '16 WRX and LOVE the thing. I am slowly modding it (STi wing, nt03 +m, catback, AP) and really enjoying the car.
How have you been bro? I hope all is well, and possibly we should all have an old skool meet up one of these days...
Cheers!
