Thumbs up Official EVENT thread for the Annual Meet... We need your help for the events!!!!

Hey all, first I apologize for all these annual meet threads, but they are a necessary evil.

With that being said, here's your chance to help out our tight knit community!

For the 9th annual BAM, I want this meet to shine bright and I want people to remember it for years to come... I want this meet to blow any previous ones out of the water! To do that, we're going to have to go above and beyond just the regular car meet/bbq thing... I want this year's meet to be more like the Hammy meet from 3 years ago, where we had the slip and slide from hell, jousting, and etc.

This is where you come in. I need people who are willing to take some time out and provide us with an activity for this event... I need people to bring supplies for the said activities and sort of organize the game/activity to their best ability. Below is a list of activities that I want at the event, and these are just from the top of my head, so other suggestions are greatly welcomed!


1. Giant slip and slide which will be on a downhill slope for maximum sliding. I think Krinkov has this one covered. If you haven't tried this, I HIGHLY suggest doing so, it's sooo much fun.

2. Jousting, like from 3 years ago, This is the ULTIMATE smackdown event, perfect for BAIC feuds and such. I need some people to help with this. I know Krinkov provided it all 3 years ago, however I'm sure he'd appreciate help with making and setting this up. Like I said, instead of E-thugging, people can joust it out!

3. Volleyball. This is a classic sport that almost everyone can enjoy, we just need the net and ball, so if someone can bring those it would be greatly appreciated.

4. Soccer. All we'd need is a ball and some cones for the goals. I'd be better if we didn't rely on just one person because people tend to flake. (same goes for other activities too).

5. Football, so if someone wants to bring a pig skin, that'd be really great. We don't need an organized game or anything, just throwing it around would be cool for folks.

6. FRISBEE! You can't have a BBQ without FRISBEE! Enough said!

7. BAIC BAM Car Show! I need a couple volunteers who would be willing to put this car show together. I need you to start a thread asking for BAM car show nominees, once you have all the nominee's, you start another thread and have people vote on the said nominees. After the voting is done, we'll be down to 5 cars for the car show competition, and those will be the cars chosen to compete at the actual event. People will write their choice on a piece of paper, then they will be counted, and that's how we will know the winner. There will be no judges because everyone in BAIC will be a judge. I need someone who is driven enough to see this through to the end. There will be first and second place prices. I'm not sure if we should have 5 or 6 cars as the finalists.

8. BAM COOK OFF! Like I said in the other thread, there will be a MAX of 15 teams, and 3 judges... Judges are Electra, Penguin Princess, and Fast teacher. I need a couple people to help out with making sure everything is going according to plan, etc. Perhaps someone to video tape too.



Need tons of volunteers for everything, and as the date draws near I'll have specific jobs for people if they want to help out, but for now we'll just stick to what we have on our palette.


One very important thing we need is video of the event! I quite a few people to video tape certain parts of the event so that we have lots of great footage of everything that we can later watch. I want everything covered, from cook off to car show, and even cars driving in the parking lot... The more video the better! I know some of you have some video cameras and like shooting, so you are VERY WELCOME to take footage which you can later send to me so I can edit it. I'd really appreciate it, and so would everyone else.


One last thing I can think of, is the BAM shirts! We need some graphic designers to whip up some ideas so that we can put them on the shirts. Shirts will be like every year, design on front, and vendor list on back. I need your skills guys, remember, everyone is going to be wearing these shirts!


I also need someone to make the shirts... Subydude? Anyone?

+1 for activities, those were fun. has it been 3 yrs since then? wow, time goes by quick.

always love the idea of the car show and cant wait for the t shirt design. i know theres a few people out there with the skill to come up with something unique

I forgot to mention, we need some generators for the site since it lacks electrical even though they have outlets there, they don't work according to the staff.

If you guys want music and fun stuff, WE NEED ELECTRICITY! We need at the minimum of 1 (duh), but having two would be much better for back up.

It worries me how little participation we're experiencing all across the board for this event.

In order for this meet to work we need YOUR help! We need people to commit and not flake! We need people who are driven and excited about making this meet happen! Most of all, we need people to take initiative and come up with things without me.

If you guys want this to be a meet to remember, you need to stand up and give me your best! I need dependable folks who want to help this community!

I love making people happy, I LOVE helping this community, and that is the reason I originally started organizing this meet... I don't get paid to do this, I do it because it makes so many people happy and brings us all closer together.

I need people assigned to the activities that I posted above! This is really important guys... It's not even that much work, I'd do it all if I could, but I'm already stretched so thin from all the other aspects of this monstrosity of a meet.

Just pic an activity and put your name next to it and explain what you will be doing/providing, it's that simple! Other ideas for activities are more then welcome, this is not MY meet, this is OUR meet, so if you think there's something that would benefit the majority of folks, please share and explain!

If you just want to volunteer for whatever and don't care what you're volunteering for, just state that (say you want to help out with anything), and I will assign you to something when the time comes.

I'll try to break things up as much as possible so that not just one person is stuck doing the chore.

I wish gifts that I could give to people helping, but I'm broke as hell and can't afford much... I will however try to get the vendors to donate some small items that I can hand out to those that helped out the most.


So please guys and gals, we need your help very badly! This meet WILL NOT happen if I can't get enough people to help out, it simply can't work without your help, so as you can see, it's very crucial that we get set up with a good team before we start any real work.

So please read this whole thread before you reply or choose to volenteer, and please choose carefully with what you want assigned to you. I expect everyone to keep their word and not flake as we are very much dependent on peoples word.

Please join me in this quest to make the best damn annual meet in the history of time.

I think Irish_car_B0mb said he'd bring one, but he hasn't been around for a few weeks, and when I checked out his last posts it appears that his wife destroyed his car a couple weeks ago
he hasn't logged in since then

I've got a camera with a huge battery that I could just post up near the entrance on a tripod to film everyone coming in. I can also help BBQ and whatnot.
