So on the forums it's mentioned that according to VZW the fix is to do as follows,
Turn the phone off
Remove the SIM card
Boot the phone
Turn the phone off
Install the SIM Card
Reboot the phone
Apparently the theory is that in it going into the search mode with the SIM removed and 911 calls only it updates the PRL which has a direct tie into the data stream or something like that.
I did try it on my phone when I was having a real bad time with the data drops and it seemed to work with only the occasional white 4g which could have been my current location at the time, I didn't long term test it as I switched to ICS about 5 days after trying it but in the 5 days the data was night and day for as far as drops.

about to get a phone tomorrow... Should i wait out for the Samsung Galaxy S3 or buy the S2??
Im reading the specs and they are VERY identical.
Also, would you buy the monthly insurance or would it just be a waste of $$$?
thx.

I pay for the insurance. I think I am going to drop it though as it does not seem to cover much.

just bought my Samsung S2... I tested a S3 and i personally didnt like it, and for $100, the differences to me seem unreasonable.. S3 specs here are similar to the S2, just new software enhancements. In Japan, they have the quad core + extras which to me seems worth the $100
