Odd Fuel Usage

So here is the situation,
Filled up my tank the other night after work, and reset the trip odm, got home, .3 on the dail, drive into work the next morning, as i pulled into the employee parking at SFO i noticed 3 things, i was at a 3/4 of a tank, my mileage was now reading 23.4 miles on the ODM, and also took note of the gph on the dash board which was at 22.4, since driving back home and looking at it last night its at a half tank and im at like 52 miles on the ODM from filling up and the GPH on the dash still reads around 21, have i done too many drugs in my life to think im going crazy or is this norm? i know i get ****ty gas mileage but holy ****!

any ideas? my car is parked in secured areas and no one has tried to siphon gas out

Fill your car up and hand calculate the milage. Miles driven divided by the gallons it took to fill back up to full.....assuming you zeroed your trip meter when you filled up.

That will tell you the acutal fuel consumption.

If it looks normal your float or gauge is toast. If its truely fu*ked then ur on board computer isnt working.

could someone have siphoned your tank?

LegAC_GT Jan 18, 2014 08:46 PM

they probably were smart about siphoning....

i.e. drilled a hole. filled it with a drain plug. lift your car and check your gas tank.

oliver if theres nothing obvious you can swing by my house and i can take a look at your car for you!

Not sure if your joking, but if not why not take more then a quarter of fuel, also m car at night is in a locked garage

LegAC_GT Jan 19, 2014 04:21 PM

I'm serious and as to why partial siphoned. It's because partial means they can come back and fetch more down the road. That's why they would put a drain plug after drilling it.

As for garage is it an individual garage specifically for your unit? Or one big caged parking lot?

I think hand calculating the milage would be your best bet....and see if it's one of those things since you are so sure no one has siphoned gas...
Hand calculating milage would be your best bet for even seeing the accuracy of your milage computer too....
