New pics of possible next gen Impreza leaked! (PIC)
I find your lack of hood scoop...disturbing. :suspicious:
We'll just have to wait and see I guess, though this is a real-deal leaked subaru design studio sketch, not some artists best guess from a JDM mag that has nothing to do with Subaru that they like to argue about over on Nasioc :p http://jalopnik.com/5692516/subaru-impreza-concept-bigger-less-furious |
I like it :D
+1 on the lack of hood scoop. Needs door handles too Just the Impreza I think. Not wrx or sti |
Looks like the design team is now in collaboration with hot wheels and audi.
|
Looks like ford.
|
2door?
if there is a 3rd and 4th door, is it made for midgets only? |
No hood scoop, eh? Fingers crossed for FMIC, though I doubt that'll ever happen.
|
Ehh.. looks like a scion/legacy/civic combo... no thanks.
Would really have to see a real prototype to know though. |
I find your lack of hood scoop...disturbing. :suspicious:
This. Also, looks like a Scion or a Ford. I'd rather have a bugeye. Oh wait... |

Which doesn't bother me one bit. I likey!! |
2door?

I do also, but I do not want to try and squeeze into that spot tho |

I don't mind it. But there is a lot there I see not having a prayer of making it to production. Pretty much the entire bumper. No fog lights. That bar that stretches in to the vents would never make it... especially not painted.
It wouldn't be hard for them to add a new style scoop to that hood though. I wouldn't mind seeing them go that direction. But I don't see how that translates to a hatch to well. Looks more like a small legacy. |
Looks like ford.
that's what i thought straight away. looks like a ford mondeo. |

wtf, if that comes out, i'll be soooooooooooooooooo ashamed.
looks like a scion tc................. |
iTS AT TEH LA AUTO SHOW
|
I think it looks good, but more for a Legacy though. And it's not too outrageous that it can probably make it into production in a few years.

QFT...though maybe I should've started a new thread :D -Brian |
they should design wheels that are easier to clean.. otherwise, i kinda like it

Yeah but what % here have the stock rims on their car? I doubt thsoe would wake it tough to the production model |

It will be interesting to see how it looks at final production. Definitely would be interesting to see it go from TMIC to FMIC, but that bumper design is not conducive to a FMIC at the moment so a hood scoop would need to be added to the car to support the TMIC so we'll see how it looks once all the tweaks are done to the production model. |
wtf, if that comes out, i'll be soooooooooooooooooo ashamed.
Dont worry guys, Im sure no matter what they finally settle on, its going to be just as ugly as every other Impreza they've put out for the last ten years. :p |
Krinkov your icon cracks me up man.
As far as the new Impreza goes I don't like the wheels...
BTW, we should all know by now that the wheels on auto show cars are NEVER the stock wheels the car comes with, they always lower show cars and put them on 22" wheels, its like the unwritten rule now :ohwell: |
I find your lack of hood scoop...disturbing.
Mos def on this part! Bugeye FTW! |
BTW, we should all know by now that the wheels on auto show cars are NEVER the stock wheels the car comes with, they always lower show cars and put them on 22" wheels, its like the unwritten rule now :ohwell:
Truth. But this concept surprisingly doesn't look lowered at all. Look at all that clearance in the wheel wells. |
Truth. But this concept surprisingly doesn't look lowered at all. Look at all that clearance in the wheel wells.
ill bet the production ones are even taller tho ;) unless the cocept one is supposed to be the STI, doubt it tho |
For once, the first impreza since the GC that I've liked upon first sight!
When the bugeye came out everyone cried, and now everyone loves it (thanks aftermarket!) Same with every model since... This is the first one with a ton of potential with the aftermarket world. You shouldn't focus on small things like a grill or whatever, that can all be changed, you should focus on the shape of the car, it's lines and how it flows. I love the lights a lot. This thing rocks! |
BTW, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the rear end! So much better than the previous years (after GD). Thank you Subaru for making it good this time. Now lets hope for some GREAT colors!
|
I dunno I actually really like it! Besides the wheels of course, overall looks pretty cool. I would assume its gonna pack a lot of power with it too! H6 Twin turbo maybe....yeah right. But I'm assuming more displacement for sure.
|
For once, the first impreza since the GC that I've liked upon first sight!
So very true. |
It's not too bad. But at first sight, I thought it was a photoshopped Volvo S40
|
I really like it.
|
looks better than the 3rd gen at least...
:mad2: flame suit -ON- |
that cant be a subaru it looks too nice
|
Truth. But this concept surprisingly doesn't look lowered at all. Look at all that clearance in the wheel wells.
It does to me, but I look at the hub height versus the side-skirt height. This has been getting deeper every year. Look at an older car and you will see that the hub is well below the bottom of the car, or the rocker panel. Each year that passes the wheels get shoved further into the body, regardless of the size of the gap. I find this interesting. :sign0085: |
looks better than the 3rd gen at least...
:mad2: flame suit -ON-
okay now that's just mean hahaha |
This.
Also, looks like a Scion or a Ford. I'd rather have a bugeye. Oh wait...
Nailed it. :peace: |
Subaru designs always grown on me, but this one I am hating on right away. Not that it's ugly, I think I hate it because it looks just like a Ford, or a Volvo, or a Nissan, or a VW, or Acura, or.... It looks like it could be any old boring car.. Horrible, I don't like it.
What IMPREZA would you rather have, a new updated 22b wide body (see new Lancia Stratos), or this new thing that looks like your mom's car? |
http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/17/subaru-impreza-concept-la-2010/

I'd hit it
|
Design needs a little more Prodrive P2 or this
|
^^^I like that.
I don't like this new concept thing. It looks too much like everything else. When they did the Mediocrity campaign I thought they were making fun of all of the cars that look the same. I didn't think it would be a precursor to their new models. |

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. IWSTI.com will cease to exist if subaru releases this.

also since this is just the concept and the production will will still be a couple years off, heres some other Subaru concepts for perspective, if anything theres goon be alot of changes. 2008 Impreza concept, lowered, big wheels Production version Legacy concept, lowered, big wheels Production version |

Wow, that blue hatch back you posted 3 cars up Krink is the ugliest subaru to ever happen to subaru, EVER. Looks like a Daewoo Lanos (At least it's blue and not champagne color, lol)
|
Hmmm, do not know if like or not. :ohwell:
Needs more time to figure it out. |
I don't really care how it looks as long as it has awd and a turbocharger :D
|
Looks like civic
Do not want Will wait for toyubaru |
Looks like civic

Now let's be honest, our cars have been traditionally ugly compared to the normal cookie cutter designed cars out there. Until recently with the subaru/Toyota concept and now this one I would say the design team is doing a good job.
Now let's hope they increase or improve power levels since everyone else is doing it. |

But seriously... why are there no door handles
|
Open by remote maybe? What if the batteries die?!
|
i like the potential of it. This is the impreza concept... not the WRX or STi concept. Keep that in mind. Also we havent seen the interior yet. Don't hate just yet.

shaved doors huh??? not my cup of tea on a subaru..
