New and moving to San Jose

Hey everyone,

How's it going? I'm new to this forum, but I've been in the Subaru scene for a while. I recently accepted a job in San Jose and will be moving out there this summer.

This will be my first time in Cali coming from the East Coast.

Anyone give me some tips on where to live, places to go, meet ups, etc??

Thanks!

Welcome to I-club. There are lots of south bay people on this forum. I am about 20 min north of San Jose.

Tons of subie owners in that area and tons of meets and such. If you look in the meets section you will find some. Wednesday night Va-Jay-jay meet is a very popular one. WELCOME

Nice , depending on your age and style there is a lot of good places to eat in SJ, also many I-club members from that area.

I think I saw your thread on nasioc.

Welcome!

Like stated above.. Tons of good places. What is your budget? And do you have kids? Could play a big factor in where I might suggest searching.

I live in Morgan Hill, a bit south of San Jose where the action is but its a great place to raise a family if thats what you're looking for. Rather new housing with a somewhat decent school system...lol

Make you sure move out here in time for BAM (Bay area meet) massive subaru meet!

Welcome, join us at the Weds Night Vajayjay Meet. Really good turn out every week. Never a dull moment. It's a lot different from where you're coming from I'd assume and hearing how the east coast is from my friends.

If I had a dollar each time you posted this picture, I'd be just as poor!

and welcome to west side, where you won't have to worry about horrible winter weather! yay!

Welcome, but if your looking for a place to live, stay out of the eastside part of SJ. There has been lots of shootings and gang related activity in that particular area in the past year and still taking place.

Hi again,

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I should explain a little bit more about myself.

I'm actually in my mid 20's graduating with a Master's Degree. So no kids or family. Looking to rent out an apartment (hopefully find a roommate too).

My idea location is somewhere 15 minutes within work which is north of San Jose at the bottom of the bay. 4400 North First Street San Jose, CA 95134

Also I'm a huge outdoors person rock climbing, hiking, biking, etc.

Since i see ur from georgia dont know if in atl or out in th country. If ur a city type guy i suggest san jose. And if u like the quiet country scenery view i suggest gilroy or morgan hill which is not a far drive from san jose. Welcome

San Jose is pretty live when it comes to Subies and suby events. There are meets almost every night out that way.

If you're looking for places to live it depends on...
1. Single/married/kids
2. Your pay scale and what you want to spend
3. where you're working
4. do you need a garage

The bay area is pretty wide open and a great place to transition to.
