Need Some Helpers For Mt Hamilton, Whats in it for you? Well, click on this thread!

Well, you'll get a special edition Mt Hammy shirt that is Yellow rather than green (or whatever color) and instead of the vendors on the back it will say "STAFF".

I don't want any flakey crap either, I need commited people who will follow through like they have in the years past (like last years cooks, you guys were amazing)... I know some of the regulars (my friends) are down to help already, I'd still like to see you post in this thread so I know how many people are actually going to commit their time to this event...

I need:

Food people. Haven't decided what food we're going to do, maybe chinese food in bulk... like 400lbs of (no joke, lets say 600 people show up, thats less than a pound of food for everyone, my target is usually a pound of food for everyone, excluding bread/snacks and such) so this is a big order. If we cook, well, you know the routine... this year will be hamburgers and such instead of steak... I've tried to make the steak thing work in the past but it just doens't... takes too long to cook, too expensive, etc... so screw it. This way it will be fast, eveyrone gets what they want, etc).
If we go the Chinese food/pizza route, I need drivers that will go down the mountain (quimby) and get the stuff, and bring it back up in time for lunch... this takes mad time coordination, but has to be done. For food, just to be safe, I need like 10 people minimum (that excludes myself, Miki, and friends/family that aren't on this board). You must show up at LEAST 1 hour before the event.

Parking people Gagan and friends did a great job last year, I hope we can get the same kind of organizing together this year. I need 2-3 people for this. You will be on call for the first part of the event... You have to arrive early and plan out and direct people into parking spots. Walkie talkies are a must. You must arrive at LEAST 1hour prior to the event.

Set up people This one is a beatch... Setting up tents, moving drinks, etc, whatever else there is for setup. For this, I need an infinate number of people... lol. No, I don't really know. This year we're probably going to have some extra entertainment so we will have some extra setup which will take some time
You're required to show up at least 2 hours early for setup.

Its 4:25am, and I can't think of anything else at this moment, but this is just the inital getting people together thread. I will assign posts and spots based on who volenteers for what.

Also, any user that helps out obviously gets free admission into the park, and gets VIP title, and if you already have one, you get a custom title of OUR choice ;0)

This event requires A LOT of manpower to make everyone happy. I have seen what has happened in the last 5 hamilton meets, all the faults I try to fill, but no one is perfect and the event will always have its disasters, such as the random person showing off and going off a cliff, etc, etc. I will try to work with the park staff for parking so that we don't get lines like last year... Make it so its either pre-paid or that its like a toll booth... You know, have your money ready and just get a ticket and be done with it. I don't know why they lagged so much last year.

Cashis May 4, 2006 10:24 AM

I'll do the food runs :p

What time does the event start anyways?

wombatsauce May 4, 2006 10:29 AM

I am totally down to help. I need to figure out my schedule and make sure I can be there, but other than that I am willing to do whatever I can to help out. I also have a mondo stationwagon (SAAB 9-5) that would be cool to haul crap, as much as I would want to bring my Suby...

You should be fine with bringing your Subaru, we usually have plenty of space for hauling stuff.

Thanks to those who replied.

There has been some mention of moving the meet to a different location, such as a Karting place, but I don't think that would go over well with the whole tradition thing. I think we have a good spot that we can agree on. It's in the mountains, away from everything, its tradition, so yeah... It's what the meet is all about.

I'm going to try to get the day off from work for Hammy. You guys better make it worth my time (and money loss from no work) :p

Imprezer May 5, 2006 12:22 AM

I want 3 hot girls in Bikinis washing my car there. Whoever can arrange that, will get @i-club.com e-mail and VIP status. ;)

dynamicprojeKtz May 5, 2006 12:34 AM

im willing to help most likely w/ parking or the grill

brucelee May 5, 2006 12:38 AM

Hahhaha, how about I get Zoeb and his minions to wash your car in bikinis while patrck (kbg) films it all.

I have a digital camcorder now, so I'm going to make my own Mt Hamilton movie... with great footage of course. :D

And Cashis, don't worry, this is the yearly bay area meet, which basically means its the yearly CA meet... Some of the so-cal guys show up, as well as vendors from across the nation, including, Cobb, etc. Basically what I'm trying to say is, this IS the meet.
