Need to Borrow: Propane hand torch & pipe cutter

I need to cut some copper (1/2" OD) pipe and solder on some plumbing connections. Does anyone have one of those propane/Benzomatic hand torches and a pipe cutter? To buy this would be like $40, and it is a one time task. I'll throw in a couple of bucks to cover the fuel cost for the torch.

Shoot me a PM or a text if you have my number.

Also, would prefer someone close to Sunnyvale/San Jose so that gas doesn't equal the cost of just buying everything

You sure you don't need a pair of pliers?

Feel free to derail the thread after I get what I need.

My brother in law has both and would let me borrow them so if you want to meet up with me and could probably pull this off. That would require hanging out with me though, so it's a tough choice. ;)

I think I have it covered, thanks anyways!

Are you saying butane/propane is not hot enough to properly melt plumbing solder?

Bumps usually contain the word "bump" and I don't need a "free" bump 9 minutes after I posted.

The last reply was actually a nice bump (<--it was in it, too).

My original plan was:

1) Say something provocative to provoke.

2) Wait for the ensuing posse to jump in for a long-drawn-out back & forth.

3) Only reply with to get more angry replies (Shagon Wagon probably get this joke)

But then I waited too long and lost interest.

Oh well.

Ditto, use MAPP. Just go to home depot its only $50 for the whole torch set-up and all you need is a hacksaw.

get the SHARKBITE fittings, REUSABLE and Adjustable!!! Try it, it hella helps. It's at Home Depot, Lowes, ACE hardware. Trust me, if u need to fix something fast and secure it and gives you flexibility to correct any lengths or bends.... It's Sharkbite fittings. Came in hella handy in negative degree weather in Montana.

Yeah, not going to spend $50 on a torch for a one time project. That alone would double the cost of the project.

Is $50 too much to do the job once, correctly?
Plus, you'll have an awesome crack torch that you can use to start a BBQ, do "at home" branding, etc.

When a cheap person wants to do something the cheap way, there's no stopping them.
