metal grinding noise on cold start up?

Could be the starter not disengaging from the flywheel.
Mine did that the other day when it was SUPER cold the night before and my car had sat for a couple days.

I had something similar happen to me. Turned the key, got the "you moron, it's already running" sound and then saw my tachometer still read 0 rpm. Usually that sound is because the flywheel is already moving the starter cant engage and rubs against it to make that sound. This time I think it might have been the starter not engaging the stopped flywheel and scraping against it instead.
Took a second to look around and then cranked it again and it started up like normal.
