If it is a factory sealed engine with bolt on's. The the M&M act could be argued. I was not going to get into that. But now that someone has.
There is a lot of angles that could play out.

As for parts as these failing on a bone stock car, that is a WHOLE nother story, which everyone is not seeming to understand.
The fact of the matter is your car was not stock, it was indeed modified past SoA's "warranty" policy, and asking for them to do something is just taking a shot in the dark and trying to put the blame off on someone else.
..again, im not saying you, him, her, and them are wrong/right. All I'm doing is saying what I think with what facts have been put in front of me.

First - that's fraud; a practice no member of this forum who ever partake of
Second - it depends on how deep they wanted to dig. It's fairly easy to tell if bolts have been tampered with recently. If they went looking for evidence of a recently removed downpipe or turbo, it wouldn't be hard to find.
I can't speak for Subaru, but I know with Audi's the ECM will hold logs of reflashes unless left unplugged from all power for several days

2. The same SOA rep would likely be the one called out to approve the repair.
3. That's fraud.
4. Even with an AP unmarried you can tell if the car was previously tuned.
5. Not all technicians are morons. Sometimes it's obvious when mods are removed.

Eh. That's not really a leg to stand on on itself. My last tuner said the same when I made 389 whp with a 20G (high reading dyno). It was misfiring on the way home and shortly after the car miserably failed leakdown testing on all 4 cylinders. Based on what we found, the motor was on it's way out before the tune (it passed leakdown when cold, but not when warm so it wasn't seen earlier). Regardless, this is not a case of broken rings or the state of your motor, it's the pick-up that broke.
