A Little OT? Bucket Seats to Computer Chair Conversion?

Hi. I was inspired somehow to get some cheap racing seats and convert them into a computer chair. Does anyone know of a place where I could possibly find plans to do so or even buy a cheap one for myself? Thanks.

Kragen auto parts, Ikea, and Home Depot.

Cheap "racing seat", cheap office chair, and a drill.

Ta-da!

Hm...you think it'll be a hard job?

omg i really want to do that. even if its not a bucket seat. you can use your stock seats and put the bucket seat in your car, heh

Hm. Well, cheap bucket seats on ebay are roughly up to $100. I wonder how difficult it would be to mount them...I'm not too handy if you know what i mean.

What Huck said, plus have an angle grinder ready.

First figure out what seat you want, then make a template of it's bottom mounting points, take the template and compare it to the bases of some office chairs, and pick a chair which you like the base of, and which makes the most sense as far as adapting it to the racing seat.

Make a mount out of square steel tubing stock, or something similar, and make it bolt to the seat and the chair base, and you're done.

Good luck with it!

check check it: just zip tie your car seat to a swivel base. viola! ghetto ride!

why dont u just use the seat brackets that are ment to mount in the car? im sure theres a way to drill a hole in one so u can bolt it to a office chair.

just make the fore/aft sliding adjustment inoperable.
