Lightbulb Kartboy shifters...are they really all that? Or just hype?

Thoughts? Any other alternatives?

Thumbs up

Had it on my WRX and loved it. Wouldn't know if other brands are better as I never tried them.

Just put mine on a few days ago, so far so good. Signifcant difference from stock, but like 2cam16 said, I wouldn't be able to compare it with anything cause I haven't tried anything else.

all the kartboy shifters actually lower the shift **** as well as shortening the throw. I personally prefer the **** to be as high up and as close to the steering wheel as possible so I don't spend as much time going from wheel to shifter when driving hard.

I love mine. I'm pretty short so the height doesn't bother me.

on the wrx, it was like nite and day.

on my STi, all i did was the steering bushing sinceit has a shorter thrown built-in, i didnt notice that much of a change.

but on my previus WRX, the bushing really got rid of rubbery feel of the OEM rubber bushing.

as for the SS, when i traded in the WRX, and swapped back the OEM shifter, holy cow...

I got mine a few days ago. I think it's really nice. Huge difference from stock. I thought about getting the Cobb for its adjustability but went with the Kartboy

I'm one of those insane people who installed the shifter, front and rear bushings, pivot bushings, and linkage bushings.

Like Wolverine, snikt, snikt!

My car came with the short shifter from factory on my 07 STi and husband got the stock shifter on his 07 STi. You can totally feel the difference between the two. I like the short throw shifter much better.

Went with ebay special, half the price, great little shifter with bearings! Impressive for the Impreza. Punch in Subaru Short Shifter in ebay motors.

I as well. That's why I modified my Kartboy by raising the **** by an inch and a half. Short shifts with a shifter slightly taller than stock. I cut the top off of the oe shifter and welded it to the top of the KB with a piece of coupling for strength. With one of the KB Knuckleball *****, it works perfectly for me. I had my KB for about 2 years when I decided I had enough with the lowered height. Instead of buying a different one, I made my own. Couldn't be happier as I've had it like this for over two years now.
