First rule about my shooting club is that you don't talk about my shooting club.
I have a simple 100m range in my backyard and an ~850m range in my neighbors.

i can tell you this, being a gun owner in kalifornia hasnt been this good since... well... 2000.
while it doesnt look like it, we are actually making strides. a recent US supreme court decision has finally said that the 2nd amendment applies to individuals (mcdonald vs. ilinois -- or was it chicago).
we still have to jump through certain hoops. but trust me. since AB 23 became law in 2000, i never thought i could never own an AR rifle.
now we can!
only stumbling block left is to vote out certain politicians who believe their lives are worth more than yours and mine...
