If you had $17,000, what new car would you buy?
Hey guys, long time i-clubber without an impreza. So I think my parents, yes, my parents, not me, are buying a car for me. I'm 17 and I love WRX more than anything else because we all know its a great car. My parents offered one to me, and they said by around January they could get one for me. But with school and all, I'd want a car quicker, so I said just buy me any cheap-ish kind of car. I know I shouldn't start out with a WRX anyways. I've been driving an automatic Camary for a while, like a year, and this next car, I think I'll get a manual so if and when i get a wrx i won't mess it up. So if you guys, subaru/impreza enthusiasts, had 17,000..actually maybe like 16k or something, which car would you buy? Oh, and to help me, choose a car that has to have 4 doors and it cant be used. If it was me, I wouldve bought a used 2.5RS 98-01, but no used cars, just a parent thing. I was thinking of the cheapest Civic..that would be my 1st choice, and maybe a Mazda 3 for 2nd choice, and Corolla for third. What else is out there for this range? Lancer, Sentra, Neon?? lol no neon. Well, thanks for everyone's input.

I'd definetly wait and get the wrx. But thats not helpful, sorry :(

as opposed to a 17 yearold driving a wrx? lol i bet if you take the number of wrx crashes, and the number of s2k crashes, subies would come up on top without a doubt lol |

thanks for the help guys, i thikn ill just wait it out..i mean i really REALLY love this car, and just today i saw a wrx at my school..and i was like..its worth the wait. and the scion tc looks REAL nice, i love that car too but sadly its 2 doors. thanks again for the help. |
Mike, wait it out!!! Or just settle for a current model 2.5RS :D
Don't settle for a non-Impreza  |
How about a 98 RS with a NEW engine... cough EJ20. Nah might not be good for first time Subie owner, I'd just get a cheap civic and save the rest of the $ for when you're ready to sell it and buy a scoob.

corolla, just because i'm a toyota fan.
if toyota would get off it's lazy ass and make an STi killer... i would trade in mine so fast... |
