Can we have instant death penalty for car thieves?
Wow look at the top 3:
2011 Ranking 2010 Ranking
1. Fresno, Calif. 1
2. Modesto, Calif. 2
3. Bakersfield-Delano, Calif.
I'm curious though... who knows of car thefts of car with immobilizer keys?
A professional thief can get it no doubt, but casual car thieves seem to be deterred by them.

Yakima made the top 5, lived there while going to tech school years ago. Had 22 murders there one of those years too, chrime per capita is worse than LA suposedly. I'll take cali over there.
I bet at least 90% of these cars stolen are Hondas/Acuras. I've seen how they steal those cars (mine was stolen years ago). However, I don't think they're competent enough to steal anything other than these cars or those that's more involved and deal with immobilizer/tracking system/etc.; they wouldn't dare.
But on that note, police in Fresno, holy crap, like every one of 'em drives those new Chargers...yet I rarely see 'em here in the bay. But then again, Fresno police are ****s but that's a different subject.

Honestly, I think driving a non-turbo Subaru is somewhat a safe bet since Hondas and Toyotas are just more well-known (and because of that, easier to break in to). That, and the demand for non-turbo Subaru parts isn't really massive (at least that's what I think).
But at the same time, Subarus with frameless windows... might have a higher risk...

Bet a doughnut that this top 20 list is just a re-shuffle of the top 20 cities for meth use/production/arrests; probably not even much of a "shuffle"...
I work in American canyon, right above Vallejo, and whenever we drop sum1 off at a Vallejo hospital we are amazed at how many ****ty drivers there are out there. If your car gets stolen there good luck getting it back non-totaled.
