True. There are like two or three guys out of the south that I respect as lyricist. Otherwise it's just garbage over crappy beats.

We can all thank Master P for this issue. Uhhhh.... nananana.

duh dun da, duh dun da, BOOM!

That's when you run 2 12's, turn the gain up, turn down your highs and let the bass go so you don't have to listen to the lyrics.

lil wayne does what anyone who wants to be "the next big thing" does. He gives his target audience (today's young generation) what they want to hear. period. If you think he does a bad job at this, your dead *** wrong. I agree that every other phrase talking about *****, *****es, hoes, and drugs is absolutely ****ing ridiculous and that is exactly why I don't listen to him, nor the radio for that matter (unless 106 is playing some clyde carson or Team). However, my point being, what he does, he obviously does it well and gives youngsters in high-school now-a-days something to dance to at their prom.

FWIW.. lil wayne's mixtapes are some of the hottest mixtapes I have ever heard. period. his mainstream/radio bull****, not so much.

I don't go out of my way to listen to mix tapes these days.

And if you think he's doing what people want then you're wrong. People don't know what they want. They listen to what they're told to. They're sheep. There is a formula and they eat it up like sheep. The music industry is all bout finding the a formula and running it dry.

Turn on the radio and you'll hear the same 10 songs AT LEAST 15 times in a 24 hour period. Those songs pay to play. People hear stuff enough and they like it. The new usher stuff is a perfect example. It's garbage but it gets played enough and you start to bob your head and low and behold it's the number 1 record. Hell the new jb "hit" is just a PG13 version of the whisper track.

So yes I agree with you about him feeding what people want to hear but I disagree with the angle. He's feeding the public what the record company is telling him to feed to the public.

He could very easily write about something worth while and sell just as many records. It's a matter of being lazy. Anyone can write a couple decent lines every now and again. And yes I mean everyone can. I used to sit down with my headphones on at open mike night and write something on the spot and delivered correctly people were always stoked. I am not a writer or a musician. Hell I walked in on a recording session where the band was struggling with the hook and my buddy and I rewrote it on the spot.

Just because someone has had a few hot songs doesn't mean they're stuff isn't garbage. I'm a fan of 50 cent but most of what he's trying to do right now is garbage because he's gotten lazy and money fat just like Lil Wayne.

If clear channel did their job then maybe the radio wouldn't be saturated with filth and useless songs about money a blow jobs. But hey... god forbid someone says **** or **** in a song. At least they're being honest about what they're saying. Not hiding the messages so 11 year olds all over the country are singing their lyrics.

Lil Wayne and everyone doing what he does are useless pieces of ****.

I'd rather listen to Mos Def any day of the week... even his more recent weaker isht.
