Boost question/problem

Boost question/problem

ok so i installed a boost gauge using the top vacuum line off the stock BOV. when i boost the needle flutters between the 10 and 15 psi notches. what are the possible causes for this and i apologize if there is already a thread on this

1. leak in the connection where you tapped the hose in or at the gauge end.
2. loose wastegate actuator
3. cracked wastegate

do you feel your car jerking around when you boost? 10-15 is a pretty big range

Did you use the supplied restrictor pill in the line between the t and gauge? If u don't use one the needle won't dampen and it will flutter.

Since you said the boost needle flutters and not boost. It's a needle dampening problem not a boost issue as stated above.

i havent noticed the car jerking. so for the acuator i would need to lengthen or shortened?

@Scoobywax yeah i used everything that came with the boost gauge. ill check them again when i get home but evrything that came with the kit i used

If it came with a t that has a built in pill you should be good. Some come with an in line pill inside a rod that you enter into the tubing too. Take a pic of your install @ the bpv so I can see it.

Dont touch the actuator right now. You arent surging. Its pretensioned so you dont want to **** it up if you dont need to. Even when i was surging i didnt touch it i just replaced the restrictor pill a little bigger.

Fixed the problem. The hose was kinked. Thanks scoobywax for the help
