Hit and Run FTL!

Seems like I've had a string of bad luck in the past week. Last week someone dinged my door pretty bad.

Today, some guy in a BRAND NEW Dodge Caravan swerved into me. I parked on the street (parallel), and went to the market really quick. When I came back to my car, the guy in the car behind me told me he saw everything. I asked him what happened and he told me a black Dodge Caravan with dealer plates swerved into my front fender (he said the guy was texting or on the phone) and just booked it. Another witness was there as well.

What sucks is that I have liability insurance, so this isn't really covered. I went to the police station to file a report, but I doubt anything will happen.

This was on Irving St. in the Sunset.

BTW, yes I know I have RE92s and yes they're really, really used.

did you get the witness name number? call your insurance place and get comprehensive. wait like 2-3 weeks and call it in. it's shady but if you are desperate its a option.

that really sucks but if that is all the damage consider yourself lucky. A similar thing happened to me but it was the whole passenger side of my car. and atleast it didn't destroy your tire and rim too.

My suby had a hit and run before i could even drive it so i know the frustration. My shoulder was still broke when bryan went and bought my blue sti and was so pissed the first day i could drive it i come out of my house to see my blue bumper was white.. Bonus was bryan works for a paint shop so we got it fixed right away. Sorry that happened to you its never fun to deal with.

If it's brand new it prob came from the nearest dodge dealer. I would go report it and inspect all the dodge caravans in that color. Dealer plates are only to be used when a dealer moves the car or test drives. If you can nail them the dealership is responsible and your insurance worries are over

Yeah this makes me almost happy my scooby has been in Ed's shop for three weeks. So many stories of cars being hit and run, keyed, stolen etc..

Same thing happened to me in North Beach. Someone, most likely driving a truck, backed into my car and caved in my hood. I have liability only insurance as well. Some people.

gotta get in there at some point mang.. sorry to hear about it. I ahve a huge ding on one of my doors and somebody keyed the other side.. it wasnt too deep so it buffed out for the most part. I've definitely been bumper bashed a few times but the car still looks ok. Good look on getting the repairs. Your clip is probably bent.. Best advice i can give you is to have somebody go inside the car and hold the lever to the open position while you wiggle the hood or even bust out a rubber mallet to knock it loose.

Or by dealer plates, they meant that license plate size paper that advertises the dealership until they get their license plates, then you can still go to the dealership and ask to see if anyone has come in for body work. Some dealers take the car and send it to their preferred body shop or their own if they have one.
