Help with ticket

Hey guys,

So this morning on my way to school i got pulled over by a motorcycle CHP. So I got cited for my new exhaust for being too loud. The officer said that it isn't a fix a ticket, I just need to put back on the silencer and pay a small fee. Here is the catch, he didn't have the db testing thingy, so can he really give me this ticket?

And does anyone know how much does this type of ticket cost? I mean if it is cheap then i'll just pay but yeah... anyone got any ideas?

thanks!

i got pulled over for a loud exhaust and the officer didnt have the db test either, but its up to the officer's discretion... sad but true.

at least he didnt make you open your hood and send you to state ref.

i say wait for the bill to come in the mail which will arrive in the next few weeks and see how much they charge you.

gluck with everything.

If anyone has a ticket out there, please try the steps described on this link above. I want to see if its really successful.

I guess its like 30% it gets dismissed just by filling out a written contest and mailing it in. If that doesnt work there is more you can do to get the thing dropped.

*honestly havent read anything yet, just word of mouth this site helps*

Not in mileage! lol

As mentioned, try ticket assassin, he really is smart. Most of the time many officers do not respond... (sooner or later they might have templates built just for them to auto-respond and just fill in the blanks...) but anywho, til that happens, definitely contest and do the trial by written declaration.

Same scenario happened with me last fall. I got pulled over by CHP for having too loud of an exhuast (srs catback - no silencer). I said I just put it on and i think I have an exhaust leak (although I later confirmed I didn't). He asked if I had a baffle (silencer) and to put it in and if so to go get it signed off.

I got the ticket in the mail for "correctable - defective exhaust". I got that signed off at the station w/ the silencer in and said I fixed my leak (not without a HUGE argument with the asshat powertripping chp saying it was 'still illegal' and I didn't do anything to it). Surprisingly he gave in with some verbal force.

Other than that, I think whether it is correctable or not is up to the leo pulling you over. I think I got lucky by playing dumb, plus he looked brand new to the force. Told me to put my resonator back on ... even though I had one lol?

I say wait for your ticket in the mail and see what the official infraction is then report back.

I just got pulled over on Monday and he saw my bypass valve that was set to 100% Recirc. And I got sent to state reff.. It could of been worse if they saw the downpipe but I cut my heatsheild to kinda cover it.. Be thankful that you didn't get sent to the state reff..this sucks
