Simply because i thought it was a waste of time to do so, simply way too much work for no gains. Plus I run a blow thru setup and if I was to put my maf in that straight section going from the intercooler to the throttle body it would be a tuning nightmare and most likely would never run smoothly/work correctly due to the air being so turbulent. I shortened my intercooler piping dramatically, and I would rather have 1 1/2' ft or so of extra piping with large radius bends than have slightly shorter piping and tight radius bends. Im looking for efficiency and smooth flowing paths.

Approx how much does the cage weigh?

kmurphy 11-26-2011 02:36 PM

not really sure, would have to find the weight of tube per ft and calculate how much tubing is in the car. but im definitely not meant to weld cages in small cars lol. So much easier on an offroad rig like a jeep. its exhausting

some cool pics of some pretty parts i took today.....havent touched the sti in weeks. Have some more stuff coming in before i start working on it. Mainly need to redo the radiator with wiggins flanges now and the piping for it,etc... as well as potentially weld on wiggins flange setups on my intercooler piping if i bite the bullet on that. who knows?
These small ones are going to be for the radiator inlet and outlet tube routing-

Have a fixture that locates where the ewg goes in the SAME place everytime for a consistent part. Trace the part, then manually mill the hole :) Quick, easy, effective.
