Going to SJSU (few questions)
Hey all, I'll be attending SJSU in the fall as a freshman. I'll be staying in the classics (red bricks) and I have a question about parking.
Where is a safe place to park if you live in the bricks? I believe there's a garage across from the bricks but can we park there? Don't want to park in the streets also.
Hope to see some Subies on campus!

you'll find me on the streets. its not the safest place to park, but its free (in some places) you just got to know where to park around downtown. get a parking permit and park in the 7th street garage next to your dorm. enjoy yourself at sjsu

can you park in 10th as a resident student, like overnight? if thats the case 4th has better parking. they have angled parking with some spots with good gaps so people cant hit your car trying to open their door. i hear about less dents and scratches in 4th than 10th. i wouldnt park in 7th but i thought thats the only resident student parking available.

I parked in 7th for the first two years then moved to 4th last year. I moved to 4th because I lowered my car and didn't want to deal with the speed bumps.

I think with a housing permit you have to park in 7th. When I went to SJSU, I parked in 7th or 4th because my classes were mostly on that side of campus. I never had problems with break-ins or anything in the 5 years I was there.

my girlfriend's friend lived in the classics last year. Shes by no way a car enthusiast so probably didn't care too much, but I'll find out where she parked.
My girlfriend is going to be going there this year, so I'll be up there a lot

make sure you have a solid bike chain. my buddy's chained up bmx got stolen from one of those fenced in areas designed for bikes.
another bit of advice. make sure you give yourself PLENTY of time for parking. if your first class starts anywhere from 8-11, there's gonna be a full garage. you might get lucky and catch someone pulling out, but dont bank on it.
