Getting my first oil change seems impossible...

I bought my car from livermore subaru and paid for the free oil/maintenance changes until 24,000 miles.

The problem with livermore subaru service dept. is that they are not open on saturdays, and the service people go home at 4pm everyday. I work long hours way out in hayward/union city and cannot bring my car to them until 445. Why does their service close so early? I cannot take two hours off to go there because losing the hourly wages would cost a lot more than a normal oil change, and i already pre-paid for these free scheduled maintenances.

I asked him if they give loaner cars if my car is held overnight, and he said "only under important circumstances." The acura dealership stayed open till like 6pm, and they always gave me a free loaner car no problem no matter what work i had done.

rant

I'm so disappointed with subaru right now. I don't know how on earth i'm supposed to get work done on my car if the local dealership hours are so horrible. It's like the customers needs aren't one of their priorities.

sigh

I'm going to be mean, but that's kind of your fault. You should have looked into that before you paid for it. See if you can get it refunded, though I doubt you can.

You may just have to eat the cost on this one and get your oil changed somewhere closer to work. I'm surprised they go home so early. That is a bit ridiculous.

should have looked into that before purchasing your car there.

There are lots of dealership that offer similar deals.

Why didn't you buy from Fremont?

How many miles has it been? You should do your first oil change at 1000-1500 miles. Then ever 3500 or so after that.

I'd say maybe try and do a carpool situation or see if they can drive you to bart and have someone from work pick you up at bart?????

I had to do that with my honda a few times.

Sucks. Odd hours.
Most shops close around 5. I can pick my car up from santa cruz until 6. I get off work at 6 so I have to leave early and try to figure out ways to get there or have the dealership come get me.

I'm lovin' how you keep mentioning "paid for free maintenance". Classic.

but yeah, if you wanna use their services, you've gotta go by their rules, such as hours of operation. Most dealerships are quick when it comes to oil changes, something you can do on a lunch break or something...and I'm sure we have a holiday once every three months, so you should be able to go on one of those days right?

i drove to subaru of santa cruz on saturdays to get my service during my maintenance plan period. then get a nice breakfast at one of the diners nearby while i waited. might be worthwhile if you don't work on saturdays.

albany subaru is open really late, but i wouldn't recommend going there.

i think they do offer refunds on a prorated basis. or was that just the extended warranty...?

If it is the Subaru Maintenance plan then you can go to ANY Subaru dealer. If not... well... oops.

yeah, that's what it is.

but it seems the only one open on saturdays is in santa cruz =/

I'll just have to see about getting a refund on it and i'll do my own oil changes.

What oil filter does the 07 2.5i use?

because the service manager is an *** (the night time one) and they scraped my front bumper parking my car in the lot across the street (i saw it happen, the guy tried to walk away from me when i confronted him). they did repaint it, but the paint was rough.
