i did that almost 2 years ago... take the vent apart. you will have to remove the ball like assembly, and cut the back of the vent off. the part that the ball went in can be cut and drilled to make the gauge mount. then that will bolt up into the stock location. then you can move the angle of the gauge around like the ac vent did!!! kinda hard to see when you are driving tho...

Why don't you go with the Autometer bezel pod. This is what I went with, since I only wanted 2 gauges.

About as hard to look when looking at the tach.

I have absolutely no problem seeing my boost gauge. I love my gauge pod/instrument bezel. And its only $70. I ditched all of my digital gauges(SBC-id and Blitz Dual DC TT) to use this pod and manual dial gauges. It looks sweet.

Except that it only works with Autometer gauges right?

you're gonna regret it later

Any 2 1/6" (52mm) gauges will fit.

I just don't see why you guys are so against Autometer gauges. Yes they are much cheaper than the Japanese gauges, but they do the same thing the more expensive gauges do. And they read in PSI and Farenheit. I will keep the extra money I save on these gauges and buy more mods.

autometer gauges seemed to keep my friend's old '89 GT 5.0L 500BHP blown road race car in good shape...

Now all the JDM bandwagoneers are gonna chime in.

"Dude, why would you put American made gauges in your Japanese car?"

because we are SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL ECONOMY! We LIVE IN THE US....SO BUY US PRODUCTS when you have the option, (Not to mention its much easier to find them.)

(I'm sensing all the flaming coming......"well, then why did you buy a Subaru? Its a japanese car, why didnt you buy a Ford or some american car?")

My answer to anyone that is wondering anything along these lines......I ALREADY HAVE A CHEVY.....and wanted to change things up a bit...besides Subies are SICK! IF they were American made...I'd prolly still buy one.

I got your back Carl! <thumbsup>
