frustrated and need help (diy request- moisture in brakelight lens)
hey there, not trying to bash on this individual or anything, but i had bought some 04 taillights from a known user of the forums. i was told in mint condition.. as soon as i install them this happens......

yes thats a pool of water ^ (not crack)
im not here to bash as stated!
just wondering how to fix the mistake i spent $150 on. and the $50 for gas to go the full distance from Santa Rosa to GILROY.
i understand the risk on buying from private owners and now weary of peoples knowledge..
im being told by buddies it'll be a silicone bead around the outer edge and a few day to dry and get the moisture out.
no drama here.. just frustration..
no names are necessary or other stories of bad buys.. just trying to do a quick and efficient fix! thank you for staying civil

unless im missing something take the light out and take the bulb out, drain the water through the hole. oven on 200 or 225degree for 10-15mins, pry open and resilicone the light. should be just like doing the headlight mod.
no idea if the heating will **** up your tint though. if you dont want to rebead just let the lights dry out for a while and then put them back in. use a air nozzle to get all the excess water out too.

Hey, i had the exact problem when i removed the foam gasket that's around the tail light housing. Take them off from your car and check to see if you still have them on or if they're ripped. If you have to buy new ones from the dealership, i remember them being quite expensive just for some stupid foam ****. Buy new stuff next time, you take your chance with used crap man!

Dont drill holes, It works but I wouldn't do that to the lights. Put them in the oven at 200 for 15 minutes, carefully pry the plastic apart from the housing and reseal the stuff, squish it back together and put it in the over again, take it out squish it some more and let it harden. That should do the trick.
