Exhaust and tow hitch interfierance.

Cheap aftermarket exhaust hits the new tow hitch. Should I just take a hammer to the muffler and make some space? Longer exhaust hangers would do it but will drop the exhaust super low and I don't like that. I could grind away at the tow hitch but it is a rated product and anything I do to it will change it's rating. (most likely not much though)

Anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like you need to talk to Jamo and pay him a visit. (Can;t see the pics at work) but I'd opt for slightly longer hangers and a little muffler "adjustment" as needed, together so neither of them has to be too drastic.

My car is not much louder with out a muffler on it.

Muffler will move around thanks to the hangars, so even if you lower it, it may still clang once in a while. The kartboy poly hangars can be had in various lengths and move around less, might be the way to go. How about a chunk of rubber on the hitch to keep the muffler from banging?

I took the muffler off for now. I think I am just gonna smash the muffler until it does not hit the hitch. I don't really want to lower the exhaust as I like to drive on dirt and rocks. The exhaust was cheap anyway. I could do it "nice" if I cut the pipe and shortened it an inch or so. Alas I don't have a welder and don't want to spend the money to have a shop do it.

I'd hammer the eggsauce.
